The Highlands District is responsible for wildfire suppression, prevention, and regulation in the northern Okanogan County area and also the eastern area of Ferry County. The majority of the incumbent's duties will be to administer/approve area burn permits, enforce fire regulations, and IFPL restrictions. This position will play a crucial part in fire suppression, prevention, fire investigations, and fire training. There is a moderate to high fire load during a typical fire season.
