Students will work with ODFW fisheries biologists to operate small motor boats used to deploy and retrieve fyke nets for trapping juvenile chub in various locations on both lakes. While not a guarantee, students typically are able to work on other ODFW projects throughout the region in between trapping efforts. This internship has led to additional employment opportunities with the agency for quality employees!
